Glambassador Blogpost: Soak Up the Glory of Edinburgh

In today’s blogpost I describe why studying in Edinburgh is so blooming marvellous.

A summer visit to Edinburgh’s Botanical Gardens

Firstly, Scotland is wonderful, offering an abundance of wind-swept beaches, medieval castles and, my personal weakness, tartan scarves (before you ask yes, I do need one in every colour!)

Who can resist Edinburgh’s stunning architecture? The city’s winding streets, narrow stairways and sprawling tenements have inspired many famous authors. Although a certain literary school of witchcraft and wizardry never responded to my UCAS application, the spiralling staircases and romantic turrets of the University of Edinburgh’s Teviot building are a worthy substitute. And the chilli beef nachos at the Student Union? Legendary.

Edinburgh is more than just a pretty face. The city is the host of major cultural events such as the Fringe Festival. Comedy, theatre, and dance; exhibitions, parades and a Royal Military Tattoo; Edinburgh’s cultural calendar is packed. And as students of the University of Edinburgh? These events are all right on our doorstep.

Edinburgh rocks!

Is culture not your thing? Well; what about kayaking, cocktails, and clarinets? The University of Edinburgh is affiliated with over 260 student societies. A highlight of my time at the University of Edinburgh has been making new friends (of both the two and four-legged varieties!) with the University’s Equestrian Club.

At the University of Edinburgh, it’s not just the activities which are diverse; the people are too! Almost 30% of the student body are international and I have also studied abroad for a year in Spain. My time at the University of Edinburgh has expanded my horizons and allowed me to make new friends from all over the world.

Clean living on my year abroad 😉

What ultimately makes my University so special is the people who work and study there. I have met some real stars during my time at the University of Edinburgh and these friendships are what has made my time at University truly amazing.

Scrubbing up nicely  for an evening out

I am passionate about Edinburgh. But do you know what else I’m just as crazy about? Why Soap & Glory of course! I’m a social media savvy beauty fan and I would love to represent the brand at my amazing university!

Watch this space for more beauty and lifestyle updates from me!
