Beauty Review: Spring Favourites

Hey there everyone!  As of this week I have 100 followers! Thank you so much to you all for your support. Your lovely comments never fail to put a big smile on my face!

Now let’s get back to today’s post. This week, I’m teaming up with my friend Yasmin from  lipstickmusing.wordpress.com to review  some of our  favourite beauty products for the new season. Here are our top beauty picks to help you transition stylishly into Spring.

1. The Greatest Scrub of All- Soap & Glory

Price: £9.00 for 150ml

Danielle says: “This face scrub gently exfoliates, leaving dry Winter skin feeling soft, fresh and ready for Spring. The product is gentle enough for everyday use and a little goes a long way, so it’s great value for money.”

2. Moisture Foundation- The Body Shop

Price: £15.00 for 30ml

Danielle says: “I really like this foundation because it offers excellent coverage and feels light. It is a perfect base for a fresh-faced Spring look. Moreover, the Body Shop’s Moisture Foundation is ideal for the warmer weather because it features  SPF 15 sun protection, which lets you enjoy the sun guilt-free.”

3. Kick-Ass Concealer- Soap & Glory

Price: £10.00 for 7.7g

Yasmin says: “Fresh looking skin is always a key trend for Spring, but that doesn’t mean our skin cooperates and actually looks fresh. Soap and Glory’s Kick-Ass Concealer is a 3-step solution to eliminating blemishes and dullness to achieve a fresh glow. I love that it comes with a powder for sealing your concealer, as this is the best way to ensure your concealer stays put and looks perfectly blended in to skin.”

4. Naked Flushed Palette in ‘Streak’- Urban Decay

Price: £25.00 for 14g

Yasmin says: “Everything you need for flushed, glowing skin all in one palette! This trio provides you with a bronzer, a highlight and a blush, making it a perfect companion for  Spring travelling. The powders are super silky and the shades blend together seamlessly, giving you with sculpted, glowing cheeks.”

5. Sunbeam Highlighter- Benefit

Price: £21.50 for 13ml

Yasmin says: “This highlighter is literally a sunbeam in a bottle! It adds gentle luminosity, making your skin look healthy and dewy – perfect for Spring. Plus, it feels super light due to its liquid formula; you can even mix a little in with your foundation for an all-over glow. This is a particular favourite of mine as it is such a natural looking highlight, giving you the ‘lit from within’ look.”

6.  Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette- Urban Decay

Price: £39.50

Danielle says: “The dreamy colours in this Urban Decay palette are perfect for creating a fresh-faced Spring look. The eyeshadow is durable and works particularly when paired with Urban Decay’s primer potion. Despite being an expensive product, Naked 2 is definitely worth its price-tag because the eyeshadow is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way.”

7. Liquid Velvet Matte Lipstick in ‘Wonderland’- Ciaté London

Price: £17.00 for 6.5 ml

Danielle says: “Wonderland is a bright matte pink, which is perfect for Spring. My favourite thing about this liquid lipstick is its vivid colouration. The product feels light and once it has dried, the Liquid Velvet Matte Lipstick has real staying power. I also love its precision tip applicator, which gives you a perfectly defined pout without ever needing lip liner.”

8. ‘In Stitches’ Nail Polish- Essie

Price: £7.99 for 13.5ml

Yasmin says: “Essie nail polishes are my ultimate favourite – they have the best selection of colours out there, and their formula is long lasting and opaque. ‘In Stiches’ is a pretty blush shade, perfect for adding a touch of colour for Spring.”

  1. Hi Danielle, I really like your point regarding the SPF 15 sun protection in the Moisture Foundation from The Body Shop. Having experienced solar keratosis on my nose from sun damage I now use this product all year round. I am a mature lady !! and if I had protected my skin from a youthful age, I am sure that I would not have developed this condition. If any one ready your blog knows of any other foundations with an even higher sun protection factor it would be great to hear from them.

    1. Hey! It’s a great idea isn’t it? I’m sure that there are other brands offering products with a higher SPF, although I don’t know of any personally. Thanks for commenting! 🙂 xxx
